What a Ductless Mini-Split Is
A mini-split is a heat pump without ductwork. It heats and cools room by room, which makes it the go-to for additions, finished attics, garages, boiler homes and rooms your main system can’t keep comfortable.

Can a Daikin mini-split heat my home in an Illinois winter?
Yes. Daikin’s Aurora keeps 100% of its heating performance down to 0°F, and Aurora and Atmosphera keep heating down to -13°F.
Which Daikin mini-split is right for me?
Oterra fits rooms that mostly need cooling and mild-weather heat. Aurora is Daikin’s cold-climate line for rooms that need real winter heat. Atmosphera is the highest-efficiency option. We’ll recommend one after seeing the space.
How many indoor units do I need?
It depends on the rooms you want to condition and how open they are. We’ll recommend single-zone or multi-zone based on your space.
Will a mini-split look out of place?
The indoor head is a design choice and the outdoor unit’s placement is negotiable. It’s worth walking the space together before anything is ordered.
Do Daikin mini-splits qualify for the ComEd discount?
Qualifying systems do: up to $500 under 1.5 heating tons or up to $1,000 at 1.5 tons and up. We confirm the exact rating of your indoor and outdoor match on your quote. St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia run their own electric utilities, so ComEd’s heat pump discounts aren’t available there.
What warranty comes with a Daikin mini-split?
Most Daikin ductless lines carry a 12-Year Parts Limited Warranty when registered within 60 days of installation. Entra, Polara and SkyAir carry 10 years. An Asure plan can add 12-year labor coverage.
Is Daikin related to Amana?
Yes. Daikin acquired Goodman, the maker of Amana brand heating and cooling equipment, in 2012. We install both.
Do you service mini-splits you didn’t install?
Yes. Our team holds Daikin TD-10 Ductless Service and Troubleshooting training, and we service mini-splits no matter who installed them.
