Qualifying ducted heat pumps get $900 to $2,000 off depending on efficiency tier and heating capacity, ductless and mixed-use systems get $500 or $1,000, and a qualifying ENERGY STAR smart thermostat we install adds $75. St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia run their own electric utilities, so ComEd’s heat pump discounts aren’t available there.

Do heat pumps work in Illinois winters?
Yes. Modern cold-climate heat pumps heat efficiently through most of a Northern Illinois winter. For the coldest stretches, many homeowners pair one with a gas furnace as backup.
How much can I save with ComEd?

Can I keep my gas furnace?
Yes. A dual-fuel system uses the heat pump for most of the year and your gas furnace on the coldest days.
Do ComEd discounts apply everywhere you work?
No. St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia run their own electric utilities, so ComEd’s heat pump discounts aren’t available there. Nicor Gas furnace discounts still apply there for Nicor Gas customers.
Do I have to apply for the ComEd discount?
No. As a ComEd Heat Pump-Trained Contractor, we apply the discount directly to your installation invoice.
